Ben is a farrier intern at Waterfall Ranch and always has an anvil, tongs and hammer handy. He checks and cleans the hooves before lighting the embers of the forge to get everything ready for shoeing. The particular horseshoes and horseshoe nails are custom made for each animal. It's not always easy, but by the end of the day, Ben has fitted Waterfall's horses with new horseshoes. His mustang stallion Achilles, whom Ben tied to the paddock for shoeing, now trusts him blindly.
Fun Fact: Waterfall's previous farrier, who rarely stops by the ranch anymore due to age, has placed Achilles in Ben's care.
